From elevator technician to software engineer: a journey of resilience and reinvention.
Before I ever wrote a line of code, I was working as an elevator technician. It was a solid job: hands-on, challenging, and reliable. But when the pandemic hit, I was unexpectedly laid off.
I had a mortgage. Credit card debt. A two-year-old daughter. And no clear way forward.
It could've crushed me. But then, I heard a quiet voice in my mind:
"Don't worry. This is just your origin story."
That line changed everything. It didn't fix my problems, but it gave me the strength to face them. I decided to take on something completely foreign: software development.
I immersed myself in code. I studied, built, failed, and tried again. Slowly, the world of logic, systems, and digital creation became mine to navigate.
"The best way to predict the future is to create it."
Since then, I've built apps, led teams, automated workflows, and architected platforms that power real businesses.
Each challenge, whether technical or personal, has only strengthened my resolve.
I don't just write code. I solve problems with care, empathy, and a builder's mindset.
Rails, React, and everything in between
Team building and technical mentorship
Scalable, maintainable solutions
My story isn't just mine. I believe others can, and should, take control of their future too.
That's why I build with impact in mind. That's why I share what I've learned.
And that's why this site exists: to show what's possible when you treat your past as preparation, not limitation.
Global Dev Experts • Jan 2024 - Apr 2024
Grade: Competition with Honours
Completing this Software Architecture course provided me with the essential skills for software architecture, exploring design patterns like broker, event-driven, microservices, orchestration, and backend-for-frontend. We delved into network security, understanding VPN creation, the role of NAT gateways, and the importance of secure infrastructure.
The curriculum also covered machine learning and AI principles to solve complex problems, while Big Data sessions highlighted the pros and cons of chunk-based and stream-based data processing. We gained practical insights into defending software from cyberattacks like DDoS and learned to communicate designs effectively to stakeholders.

Developing Mastery is a 6-month program designed to dramatically accelerate your career progression to senior software developer. There is coaching, a project-based curriculum, and then workshops that go deep on critical material.
The core program's projects are focused on deepening your understanding of how to craft your code and develop the thinking skills of a senior developer. You are then further supported by focused and specialized workshops covering algorithms, advanced component architecture with React, software testing, and soft skills and team leadership.
Lighthouse Labs • Mar 2021 - May 2021
The goal of Lighthouse Lab's Web Development Bootcamp is to transform you into a professional web developer. I learned how to understand coding logic using popular languages and frameworks like JavaScript & Ruby on Rails, while learning how to think like a programmer by building software from the ground up.
Their web development boot camp provided me with mentorship, a data-driven curriculum, and a top-notch learning environment that laid the foundation for my career in software development.
